Why gamereleases.gg

Release dates are spread across store pages, publisher blogs, press releases and news posts, and they are often incomplete: a date without platforms, a platform list without a region, or a "Q3" that quietly slips into next year. Keeping track of more than a handful of upcoming games means checking all of those sources yourself, and doing it again every time something moves.

Steam alone saw roughly 20,000 new releases in 2025, up from about 19,000 the year before. At that volume, games from small teams and solo developers disappear between the big launches, not because nobody would play them, but because there is no single place that shows what is coming out and when.

gamereleases.gg is that place: a calendar of upcoming and recent releases, showing platforms, genres, release type and hype count per game, filterable by platform and by how anticipated a game is. Games without a confirmed date are listed per year rather than guessed onto a specific day.

About us

We're Peter and Sepus, friends since childhood and now in our thirties. Games have been the constant in that friendship, first played separately and compared afterwards, later mostly played together.

We had wanted to build something together for years. A short attempt at making a game ourselves made it clear we would rather play them, so we built the tool we were missing as players instead: one calendar that answers what is coming out, on which platforms, and when.

It runs as a side project. Peter maintains the data pipeline, Sepus designs and builds the site, and both of us use it to decide what to play next.

Data & disclaimer

Release dates, platforms and game details are synced from IGDB three times a day, so they can trail official announcements. We pick which games are listed, from interest on IGDB and from developer submissions. We're not affiliated with IGDB or any studio or publisher. Spot a wrong date? Mail info@gamereleases.gg.

Feedback

Bug reports, missing features and layout problems on specific devices are all useful. The more concrete the report (page URL, browser, what you expected to see), the faster we can reproduce and fix it. Send it to info@gamereleases.gg.

Who we are

gamereleases.gg is an independent side project run by Peter and Sepus, who are responsible for the personal data described in this policy. Questions or requests about it go to info@gamereleases.gg.

What happens on every visit

Loading a page means your browser talks to our server, hosted by Hetzner in Finland, and to Supabase, which serves the game data. Both receive standard request data: your IP address, user agent and the URL requested. We use it only to serve the site and keep it secure, on the basis of legitimate interest.

Stored on your device

The site keeps a few values in your browser: your cookie choice (for one year), your active filters, the month you last viewed and the last five games you opened from search (the search's "Clear" removes them). They stay on your device and are not used for tracking.

Analytics

If you accept, PostHog (EU-hosted) and Google Analytics record page views, clicks, filter and search usage and outbound store clicks, plus an approximate location derived from your IP address. Google may process this in the US under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. If you decline, Google Analytics stays off and PostHog counts anonymously, without cookies; your IP address tells visits apart but is not stored. Change your choice any time in the .

When you email us

Our mailbox, info@gamereleases.gg, is hosted by Zoho Mail in its EU data center; Zoho processes our mail on our behalf under a data processing agreement. We use your emails to reply and for nothing else, and delete them after 24 months. We keep a log of our replies (address, subject, date and whether it was delivered) and remove your address from it after 12 months.

When you submit a game

The submit form stores the game details and your name, email address, role and message in our database (Supabase, hosted in the EU), where only we can read them. We use them to review the game and contact you about the submission, on the basis of legitimate interest, and delete your details 12 months after we have handled it. If you tick the box to be contacted about the game later, we keep them on the basis of your consent until you withdraw it. If you paste a Steam link, our server looks up the game's public Steam page; the preview's images then load from Steam's servers (Valve). Once your game is listed on gamereleases.gg, we send you one email with the link; we may also reply to questions about your submission. We never send newsletters or promotions to addresses from submissions. We keep a log of the emails we send (address, subject, date and whether it was delivered), and remove your address from it when your contact details are deleted.

Spam protection

Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the submit form is sent by a person, using your IP address and browser signals, without cookies. Cloudflare may process this in the US under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. To spot repeated spam we keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address for 30 days; submissions marked as spam are deleted after 30 days.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent, by emailing info@gamereleases.gg. You can also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Changes

When the way we handle data changes, this policy is updated and the date at the top changes with it.
